Shanghai delegation visited the Hague & Rotterdam

Shanghai Urban Planning & Design Research Institute has joined the annual conference of the Network of European Metropolitan Regions and Areas (METREX) in the Hague and in Rotterdam (18-20 May).

During the conference, the Shanghai delegation has not only exchanged experience with European, but also has given a presentation called “Transformation Development Path of Mega Cities on the Condition of Limited Resources” – rethinking about the master plan of Shanghai 2040. The presentation was well received by the European colleagues and they had a lively discussion afterwards.

Furthermore, the delegation has also visited a sustainable urban development project (Duindorp) and an urban regeneration project (Zuidwest) in the Hague. These are the most concerned urban development themes in Chinese cities.
