Join Europe- China Eco cities link project

Ms. Xiaocun Ruan has been proposed by GIZ (Germany Society of International Cooperation) as key expert for sustainable urban planning for Europe- China Eco cities link project. Ms. Ruan will respons for improving the communication and thus accelerating the speed of cooperation among China & European cities.

EC-LINK project is a European Union funded project, a key element of the EU-China Partnership on Sustainable Urbanisation, which was signed by the European Commission and the Chinese government in May 2012.

During the last few years, it has organized various inter city labs in different Chinese pilot cities: on the theme of green building, green transport, low carbon urban planning, sustainable water management and solid waste management. Also it has build a knowledge exchange platform and sustainable urban planning toolbox.

Now EC-LINK project has set its target on the following activities: Green Building Training for small cities on promotion policy & techniques (low costs, high efficiency), pilot city cooperation with European cities on water management & flooding prevention, training on Municipal Green Finance etc.

What we have done:

• Organizing city-city exchange activities,
• Organizing trainings on green building, low carbon urban planning etc
